Cheryl established CopperTree Family Law in 2018 to assist families navigate the family law system with a focus on traditional customer service and guidance throughout the whole process.

Cheryl holds a Master of Laws (Applied Law) (LLM) majoring in Family Law and Wills and Estates.  With previous experience in employment law.  She holds admission to the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia. Cheryl regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia as an advocate.

With substantial experience in complex parenting and property matters; including family violence and serious risk issues, alienation, state and international relocation and Hague involvement, recovery orders, spousal maintenance, same sex relationships, drug and alcohol issues, medical orders, DNA parentage testing, business, company and trust structures, inheritances and gifts.  Cheryl has strong advocacy skills and is proudly known for her caring and compassionate nature.

When she is not working or raising children, Cheryl loves to travel.  She is an avid traveller and lover of languages.  She reads the new Jack Reacher novel each Christmas.

Glenda

Alongside a successful 25-year career in travel agency management, Glenda took up the challenge to support the CopperTree Family Law team when the opportunity arose during Covid. Glenda serves as a Legal Secretary and is dedicated to helping our clients navigate what can often be a highly emotional and stressful time.  With extensive experience in customer service, she is understanding and professional in any situation.  

Glenda spends her weekends with family and friends and standing behind the white line watching her two teenage children play soccer. She loves the beach, travelling the world, reading travel blogs and planning her next adventure.

Imogen

Imogen first discovered a passion for the law in high school Legal Studies.  She is currenting completing a Bachelor of Business, majoring in marketing (final year) and a Bachelor of Law (Honours) (second year) at the University of Newcastle. Imogen aspires to become a practicing lawyer to help provide assistance and support to those in need. Drawing from her background in hospitality, Imogen is dedicated to assisting clients in the best way she can and ensuring they receive the utmost level of friendly, compassionate, and professional service which is especially important during what can be potentially stressful times.

When she’s not in the office, Imogen loves baking cakes, cupcakes and everything in between, listening to live music and taking her two children to the beach – Waffles the Rottweiler and Honey the Golden Retriever.
